CIRCULAR KNITTING PRODUCTION CALCULATION
Here are the main main information required to calculate the production of a circular knitting machine:
- Machine Guage and Diameter
- RPM of Knitting Machine
- Yarn Count
- Stitch Length
For example, let’s say you have a circular knitting machine with a cylinder diameter of 24 inches and machine needle gauge is 18
Needle gauge = No of needles per inch
The circumference of the cylinder is: Machine Diameter X π (PI)
= 24 X 3.1415 X 18
= 1357.128
=1358 (Total number of needles should be an even number, so we should take a nearest even number)
SL – Stitch Length
The stitch length is the distance between two consecutive needle loops, basically length of a single loop formed by a needle.
If the machine has only one feeder, so for one rotation of cylinder will produce 1358 knitted loops, one needle one loop, total no. of needles is equal to total no. of loops.
